Fire Prevention Week™ (FPW™) is
October 6-12, 2024 10/4/24
Today ZOLL presented members of the Gillespie-Benld Area Ambulance Service, Carlinville Fire Protection District, Carlinville Police Department, and Arch Air Medical Litchfield Base, with Clinical Save Award certificates of excellence for their combined efforts and life-saving skills. They were able to successfully revive their patient from a cardiac arrest. EMS professionals and first responders receive this award for providing immediate and effective care that restores a patient's vitals when death is imminent. Today all involved were reunited with the patient

CFPD Welcomes New Probationary Firefighters
The Carlinville Fire Protection District is proud to welcome 10 new Probationary Firefighters to the department. These ten new recruits will start the long and rigorous proccess of becoming a firefighter with the Carlinville Fire Protection District. In their first probationary year, the new firefighter recruits will train in all aspects of becoming a Carlinville Firefighter. They will go through weekly training with the departments training division, as well as with some of our other training partners from different agencies and resources. These new probationary firefighters will have a busy schedule learning all they can in their goal of promoting to the rank of firefighter, totaling over 260 hours of training in this first year! Some of the training they will recieve consists of firefighter safety, fire suppression, search and rescue, vehicle extrication, public education, emergency medical response, and many many more subjects in this first year. Upon completion of their training there will be a graduation ceremony , where the probationary firefighters will be officialy promoted to the rank of Firefighter and will serve in that role with the CFPD. They will have an exciting journey in their new roles and we are happy to have them on board here at the CFPD! 5/2/22
Carlinville Fire Protection District received a new frontline engine today, a 2021 Toyne Custom Pumper. The new engine will be replacing the the former 2003 American LaFrance as the first due engine for CFPD and will be assigned the fire department identification of 1210. Eight new firefighters will be officially joining the ranks of CFPD.
The new firefighters were hired 9/11/2018 and have spent the past year in the CFPD Probationary Training Course. During their probation period they finished course work in basic firefighting knowledge, fire science principles and firefighter skill sets. They were sworn in on Sunday in front of friends and family at the Carlinville Fire Protection Districts Probationary Firefighter Promotional Ceremony and are now Firefighters for the CFPD. Their names in alphabetical order are: Nic Emery, Kat Emmons, Matt Fenton, Anthony Goodwin, Chris Hopper, Dusty Hunt, Josh McMurray, and Killian Mitchell. |
